I should really measure that mug. Last year, 3 were more than enough for me :D

Here's my truck. Right after the race Saturday.

Here's the Hub. I've pushed it all the way in so you guy's can see how it lines up. You can shim it out so that it's lines up perfect with the 2nd gear on the clutch bell. If you don't shim you need to remove the gold washers under the 4/40 button screws that hold the plastic cover in place.

I think we will move the hub ring 1mm to the outside. this way you if you don't shim you won't have to remove the gold washers under the button screws. Also the hub fits loose like the orginal. That helps with the self centering of the hub. There will be wear on the flats of the hub as your driving a steel shaft with an aluminum hub. I can't predict how much it will wear at this time. Possibly making the hub out of 7075 might make it last longer but that will increase the costs. The Dude and I will work out the details of the design changes I proposed. Once finalized he can go to town on the production of the hubs.

Henryk

Have you thought of remove the first gear pinion (rotating mass) and see if it spools up quicker, you might also consider lowering the weight of the truck by just running the OWB by remove the first gear hub.

Just a thought.

I thought about making up a part to take the place of the first gear hub but for now I works fine left alone. The hub is one of the bad ones that I had lying around. It's just used as a spacer to allow the slipper to work.

A few (5or6) months ago I asked a welder/machinist buddy to fill in a second gear hub and mill out the center so I could remove first gear. It's been sitting on my box that long, after having the OWB fail agin and after reading so much about your part I installed it today and it worked great.

When you have yours ready for sale I'll take one and anybody else who's feed up with their OWB should also!

It's a great MOD IMHO.

The AL-7075-T6 rod came in but I broke a bandsaw blade cutting the first slug. Boooo-Hisss! I ordered 2 more and they should be here tomorrow or Wed. Until then I'm working on the collet pinion adapter. Made another proto today but did not like some of the assy methods. Back to the design board for a few more changes. On vacation this week so I will have time to make up a batch of the single speed hubs and update the pricing.

More to come soon, thanks for your patients guys!!

Mailed henryk the new 7075 models today. I think they are going to work out good. The new assy weighs 1oz less.

I've a question, actually two. What is the OD of the low gear hub on the LST2 and what is the ID on the high gear hub where the clutch shoes rub on the LST2. Awesome machine work by the way.

Dude...I jsut want one cause it looks cool... :D

This is freakin awesome...I know the electric guys are liking this, but man, I'm ready to try it out for racing, especially with all the different tooth count spur's Losi's produced....I'm also wanting to grab up some of those delrin spurs that, that one ebay guy sells.

Got the new 7075 proto's. Nice. My FD kit shipped on Thrusday and 8mann is making up my pinion order so I should be able to do some gearing tests soon. The hubs will get a workout at my local club races over the next two weekends and maybe at the Sidewinder race in Thunderalley, buemont on the 10/11ths. Provide they have an MT class or will let me run in the truggy class.

I can thrash the electric truck durnng the week once the parts get here.

Benjamin, we need to hookup soon to do some testing.

I'm a bit confused. Does the new design include OWB? I burned my clutch shoes and bell because I ran 2nd gear only without the OWB it think. Or what do you say? It seems that when you run without the OWB and clutchbell runs when freewheeling then it has more strain on the shoes...

Keith - maybe this Sunday or next? I've got plans through Sat, so I can't even work on my truck (by choice - females or LST...). I could come out and help wrench and take a few laps on Sunday though.

I haven't had any issues yet with clutches running the onespeed hub. There is no owb bearing anymore. It's just used as a spacer so the slipper works.
You should regear your 2nd to 25/64 for short tracks leave it as 25/63 for the longer tracks. I have all of the 8man pinions comming so I will be testing various combos of gears looking for that 1.10 rollout my 777str has. :). Once I figure out what works I'll know better what to suggest for different track conditions. I also have a set of muggy diffs which are 11/45 to try.

LOL. Next Sunday would probably be better anyway. Got some stuff that just came up I need to deal with anyway this weekend.

I should have also mentioned that I don't want to accept money for parts not in stock yet. By letting me know if you want one via PM it gives me an idea of how many to make and ensures I won't run out of material. Also gives me an idea of priority by PM date. This way I wont forget anyone.
I work fulltime+. Some weeknights/weekends I just don't feel like working. This gives me the freedom to take a break without feeling as though I owe someone a part that they prepaid for. So, as I get some of these in stock I will PM those on the list in order and ask if you still want one. If you do I will send you an invoice, if not, I'll move to the next PM.

Sound fair?

Please post some results using standard carbon clutch with 3 shoes. I'm curious if a carbon clutch will be adequate - or if you may need to move up to a slider, like a Fioroni.

Nice work Duder!!!!!!!!!!!! =D>

Right now I run the stock aluminum 3 shoe clutches. No issues so far and they last a long time for me. I change clutches just before big race but run the same set for any club racing or practice between monthly events.
