The video helped me a lot. But the post the video was in didn't...lol. All that was there was camera talk..... :D

The truck looked good in the video. So did you ever feel like you didn't have enough bottom end? Also what engine was that?

Thanks

Ya ... the nerds on this forum are constantly highjacking threads  The engine is an RB TM928 with aluminum shoes and stock springs ... with the slipper 1 turn out it'll still wheelie like a good thing and I had all the bottom I needed ... that was a more technical track ... next weekend is GLORCS#5 at Great Canadian Hobbies which is apparently far less technical and very wide open fast racing ... I am breaking in a Picco P3 .28 this weekend and will probably run it (with a Mach 427 as a backup) ... I am quite confident that you could run any motor with this setup and still have no problems out of the hole

Cool sounds good. Your truck looked pretty good on that track and I never saw a spot where it looked as if you didn't have enough power. So I'm assuming it kinda drives like a truggy now without the second gear hit...? I might pick up one of these hubs in the future once I get my truck finished.

Thanks again for posting that video link as it helped me see that the truck could pull a one speed gear just fine..... :P

I installed it and raced it with a FOC gear swap, +1 clutchbell and my Picco P3.
Image

I always shoe goo these. :D
Image

Image

I had something going on with the Picco and didn't want to risk the engine in the main so I swapped out my hot backup with a standard clutchbell before the main.
Image

Overall I was pretty impressed with this single speed deal, I need to test some more. Next up is my RB928. :D

The Dude's single speed hub is the no brainer way to do it though, works as good as it looks!!!

Nope ... those have the 1/2" Mugen offsets ... almost always run 1/2" ... those tires are for break in but I think they'll hook up good out back ... I just ran a tank in the backyard and gonna see if my daughter will film some after dinner ... so nice having this is my backyard (when it aint rain'n)

any reason why this wouldn't work okay with a stock 427 orange head ?
intended use isn't all out racing rather high speed bashing (BMX tacks and football fields)

Anywhere from 25mph to 50mph and above depending on gearing and engine. :D

Just keep in mind the heads up that The Dude posted ... if long grass and short wheelie bursts are your thing the One speed may not be for you ... I wonder if Teflon shoes would hold up better in these situations? I am thinking i may keep mine on the P3 this weekend and see how they hold up

I put a fresh one of these on my P3, ran it for three quals and then switched it to a Mach427 and ran the main. Last night I swithed it over to a RB928 which I will be testing.

I wish I would have taken pictures but these really hold up well.

I use the dynamite version on standard sized 1/8 scale clutch setups.

I've either stretched the rod and/or during storage the main bearing balls developed rust spots.... It feels like I stretched the rod. It's a very tough engine but realize mine had been used quite a bit. I was running it at the little track where I but the epic beat down on LSTNEWB at :D. I was running FOC gear swap and +1 clutchbell, it was working very well but started to loose power when it hit 375. :D It was also doing the death rattle.
