Yep,, still works the same only heavier. I thought I should offer a less expensive option and that you bashers wouldn't mind extra weight.
If any of you guys want the basher instead, let me know asap as I will be machining those features next. It cuts about 30-40 min off the machining time, about 8 hours for 12 hubs. (I don't have to machijne the taper eather,,,). And you will get them sooner... Something to think about.

It will look like one of these, but with the spur mounting holes of coarse.

Just thought I would comment on the one speed hub. I raced this weekend with it and I had plenty of power low end and high. I'm running my stock Mach with about 8 gallons through it. My truck was very quick and easily beat the Revo I was racing on the hole shot. Now if I could just keep from wrecking.:D

Is is possible to use the single speed hub with the 1st. gear 70 tooth spur?

At first glance, It would have to be modified to fit.
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_inf ... ts_id/5913
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_inf ... ts_id/5914

The hole would need boring out and the 3 hole pattern drilled for mounting.

Would this be something you guys would need? It's an easy modification to make.

I would say yes...that way we could have more gearing options. Looks like those 3 nubs on the gear are in the same place as the 3 holes on the other gear. I could probably just file them off and drill them out.

I think they are on a smaller dia. I'd say if the ID was bored out and the nubs machined off, then drill the 3 mounting holes it would fit.
My guess is that the alignment nubs are not really needed anyway. The only reason I drill the 3 alighment holes in the single speed hub is so you guys won't have to modify your spur gears.

Yeah, it wouldn't be hard to enlarge the hole with a dremel sanding drum.

The only issue is that you have to keep the bolt pattern on center to the gear teeth.
Otherwise it will wobble and produce a gear mesh that varies, destroying your spur gear pretty quick.

If anyone is interested in having this gear option, I'll get a few on order and make up some jigs to turn them.

Not just yet, sorry I was interupted with work and travel.
I hope to have some time to wrap them up next week/weekend.
Also I will be contracting these out for the next batches so there will be plenty for everyone. Then I can get back to design.

Sorry about the wait,
Thanks,

Not sure where to post here or the other thread? But this one seemed fresher :)

When using your One Speed hub on the spur, does the modified clutchbell set-up ned to be used? Where you have the pinion epoxied inside of the bell? Or could the mod + pinions be used? I think i'd rather use a simplier one pinion only set-up. Or is there an advantage to your modfied clutchbell get-up?

If the mod plus pinions can be used, please put me down for a racer hub. I'll send a PM. 8)

You can use The Dude's adapter, Mod 1 pinion, or the "pinion expoxied inside the clutch bell adapter". with the single speed conversion.

I did some more looking at my 70 tooth spur last night again. If you dremel out the indented part it will be exactly the same inside diameter as the 2nd. gear spur. There are also already marks on there for mounting holes.

Big kid,
My Single speed hub replicates the stock setup in position. Any pinion that works with stock will work with the single speed hub.
The hub replaces all the parts required to engage the second gear, bearing, OWB, shoes etc. It will not freewheel so if you are running nitro you need to have a freewheeling clutch on the engines output shaft.
Since you are not using the first gear anymore you can use the stock clutchbell and pinions or get this, http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_inf ... ts_id/5900
and use whichever pinion you want.
If you are using a brushless setup then you do not need a freewheeling clutch as the motor will freewheel and can use a modified, epoxied clutchbell from Fine Design, RC Monsters pinion adapter, a pinion with a hub and setscrew or my colleted pinion adapter.
Many choices there. Different prices and advantages and disadvantages to all of them. Your choice.

Thanks Dude and Kaz :D I'd prefer using just a pinion, and not having to go with an epoxied or moddified clutchbell for my BL conversion.
